Beginning in 2015 , James Zimmerman, one of the owners of Country Log Cabins, became involved in the professional woodworking industry. After helping his father farm and build cabinets into his late teens and then working in the construction industry for 12 years, he became self employed and started his own woodworking business. James was invested in following a growing trend towards an interest in sustainable wood building products for everyday homeowners with a love for woods beauty and solid strength. He noticed that these homeowners were interested in more local supply chains and in wood products manufactured from locally available sources. In 2022 James realized how few suppliers were offering structures that could be assembled by homeowners or their contractors. He assembled the infrastructure to offer the components that are being used by modular manufacturers to be available as a DIY kit for end users at a marvelous price. His goal was to provide homeowners the opportunity to build a truly beautiful, charming, long-lasting, wood structure that is readily adaptable to a wide array of uses and have the well-earned sense of true accomplishment.
